Chances are you might feel a little bit nervous before the first date with that nice guy you’ve seen only in pictures for now. Anyway, we’re here to back you up with eight tips to try before your date, so you won’t feel uptight when the day comes. I heard women saying that makeup is the most important part because it gives you confidence, but bah-blah. Learn confidence without makeup! You have to feel confident before you apply your makeup (if you do). The thing is that if you keep your beauty natural, you have more chances of a successful date and it has been proved.

Beauty tips before your date

Yes, having a date might make you feel nervous, but with the tricks we prepped, you’ll stay relaxed and radiant — guess you don’t need more!

A well-hydrated skin

Ideally, start prepping a couple of days before the date. Start by keeping your skin hydrated. Smooth, well-hydrated skin always makes you appear more radiant and fresh. Plus, if you apply makeup, it’ll look and resist better on hydrated skin. We’ve prepped a DIY recipe that makes skin smooth and glowy, like a rose petal in the morning sunshine. That if you want something different than your usual body lotion.

You need four tablespoons of pumpkin pulp (which you have previously boiled). Put it in a bowl with a spoonful of honey, a spoonful of olive oil, half a spoonful of milk, and a spoonful of aloe vera pulp. Once you get a homogeneous mixture, apply it to your face and décolleté for 20 minutes. Rinse it with fresh water.

You may wonder why these ingredients? Pumpkin is a vegetable rich in beta-carotene, which is a powerful natural antioxidant. In plus, it’s precursors of vitamin A, which is a fat-soluble vitamin, meaning it can send the benefits right into the skin. Olive oil has shown to have significant antioxidant properties, as well as other specific properties on the skin, while honey is hydrating. Aloe vera has an antibacterial role, and milk is to exfoliate (thanks to lactic acid).

Shiny, soft and silky hair

The ideal scenario is to look drop-dead gorgeous and feel yourself. The way your hair stays plays a big role in that. So, you probably want it to be loose and shiny, soft, yet with volume. To have it, try this mask two days before your date. You’ll need an avocado, two drops of almond oil, and two drops of coconut oil. In a bowl, put the avocado pulp and the oils and mix with a spoon. Apply it when you have your hair wet and let it act for 20 minutes, then wash your hair as usual.

Avocado’s composition has potential health effects, and it has been shown to have antioxidant and protective properties against DNA damage and ultraviolet radiation. Almond oil has moisturizing, emollient, soothing, and regenerating properties, while coconut oil has proven to have active properties to protect hair.

Spectacular eyes

A brilliant look with healthy and shiny eyelashes is one more detail that can frame your face with that natural beauty you want to show. For this, you need a simple and easy remedy a few days before with Vaseline and castor oil. In the evenings, give your eye area a massage with a little bit of Vaseline and a drop of castor oil. Leave it on all night, and observe how your eyelashes shine in the morning.

Fleshy, soft lips

What you don’t want is dry, chapped lips. If you apply lipstick, loose tiny skins appear, and that you don’t want. To do so, once again, you’ll need Vaseline. Apply it to the lips, then apply some sugar. Exfoliation time: heat up some water, and with a little cotton, massage the lips so that, little by little, those dead skins are removed. Then apply Vaseline again and leave it on all night. This way, you’ll get soft lips.

Attractive nails

A handy trick you can prepare two days in advance is to add two drops of lemon, a spoonful of olive oil, a chopped piece of garlic, and a capsule of vitamin B. Make a mix with the ingredients and massage your nails. On the date day, choose a discreet but elegant shade, such as nude or pastel colors; they are pretty. Some properties of these compounds can help improve the condition of the nails and protect them. In case you wonder, garlic has been shown to have antimicrobial properties. Likewise, lemon is a citrus fruit with antibacterial and antioxidant properties. Vitamin B has also been classically used for the treatment of brittle nails.

Get a good night’s rest

Try to go to bed early. If you rest well, you’ll get up looking more relaxed and without the classic dark circles. Put some lavender under your pillow; the smell helps you get a peaceful and calm sleep. The aroma of lavender essential oil has been proved to have positive benefits in the treatment of sleeplessness due to its relaxing properties.

Remember that less is more

True beauty is achieved without artifice. I mean, it’s better not to abuse cosmetics and makeup. Leave aside the sophisticated and exploit the naturalness. Try hair hanging loose, or a classical ponytail, comfortable clothes, and a balanced makeup that enhances your eyes or your mouth (not both equally). The essential thing is to feel satisfied with the way you look.

A relaxing bath before your date

There’s nothing more suitable. You should be calm and relaxed, and one way to achieve this is through a hot bath where your nerves are relieved, your muscles lose their tension, where placidity relaxes your face, and the steam opens your pores, eliminating toxins. It’s worth spending at least half an hour in a bath with natural salts and a pleasant scent.

Enjoy your date, and remember, be natural and always be yourself.
